Folks I received this email through my connection with a relatively new group called Coastal Carolina Mystery Writers. Once I figure out how to post the Save the Date Flier, I’ll have that up too.

The Beaufort County Arts Council and the Pamlico Writers Group are hosting their first annual Pamlico Writers Conference and Literary Contest in Washington, NC on March 2, 2013. Attached is a “save the date” flyer which we hope you will send out to writers and writers groups. The theme is Contemporary Trends in Writing. Putting this together is a big undertaking, and we will need help in order to make it successful. There are several ways you can assist in this adventure.
 
First, we will need assistance advertising and promoting the event. There are so many talented writers in Eastern North Carolina, and we want to encourage all to participate in the conference workshops and the competition. More information about workshop presenters will be forthcoming. Bland Simpson will be the keynote speaker.
 
Second, we will be creating a scholarship award for the winning High School writer. The funding for the scholarship will be provided by donations from writers, writers groups, book stores, book clubs, etc. Any assistance you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. We will publish the names of each writer/group that contributes $50.00 or more.  Please remember to pass this information on to High School homeschooling groups.
 
And last, if anyone wishes to be part of the behind-the-scenes activities, before or during the conference, we welcome volunteers. Please email me at adsilverthorne@yahoo.com if you are interested.
